| With the mask found the clan discovered that while the worst of the Plague had abated, Daughter Plague herself was not defeated driven from the land. The wise consulted their scrolls and auguries and told the Clan Elders that with the rise of light of King Luh in the morning sky (know to the Greeks as Venus), Daughter Plague's cloak invisible that hid her from mortals would be undone and we could face and defeat her. However she would only show herself on the land in the evening when King Luh returned to his house in the underworld as is his pleasure this time of year. That night we took spear, sword and helm and gathered in the fort amid fearsome signs and portents, with storm upon the land and banshees seen howling in the clouds. Under the cover of the storm waves of Draugs, their dead eyes, the color of the moon on the ice and glowing in the darkness, attacked. One of the restless and frozen dead, managed to force his way into the fort and injure our sister the warrior witch Vyctoria. But threw force of arms the Draugs were driven back cleared from the land and cleaning fire put to their corpses ending their filth forever. Then, as we celebrated our victory over the forces of darkness, Daughter Plague appeared, first as a vapor rising from the tombs of the dead and then as a woman. Tall she was with skin the color of a bloodless corpse. Her hair was as white as bone and she looked at us with sightless eyes that mocked all efforts of the living as vain. The strongest of us blows made not difference to her, and she laughed at our weapons. We should have know better for in truth the one does not defeat disease with a blow of a sword. The Acheron Mask was turned then upon her but again Daughter Plague laughed, an awful sound that was like a tomb opening to mock the living. She said as long as her strong son Ruffo lived she feared no man, no thing, no god. With her words a evil yellow fog filled the land and Ruffo, Plague's son, strode up next to her. Ruffo was a tall powerful man, clad in head to toe in blood red scarlet. His body oozed petulance that dripped from him and polluted the very earth with his very step. His very breath was poisoned as he looked out at the world with his grave dark mask. His blade was long and crooked. Even the mightiest could not look upon Ruffo of the poisoned breath and not have their hearts tremble. But the Sisters were brave and fell upon him with their arms. Though the Plague Daughter mocked us there was tremendous battle, many blows were given and taken as the Sisters of Amazon Celt faces terrible Ruffo of the poison breath. Finally, when it seemed no Sister could raise her sword again from her injuries and fatigue, Sister Patrice road at Ruffo and drove her spear threw him, a certain death for man and even an immortal! Ruffo scream for his mother Plague as his black, stinking blood pored from his wounds and desecrated the clean ground below him. Sister Patrice had to throw her spear from her, lest Ruffo's blood poison her too. With final yell of rage Ruffo of the poisoned breath sank to the ground and perished. Weeping and walling the Daughter Plague came to her slain son. Cursing us she picked him his corpse up and with shrieked she flew back to her mother's icey hall in far off Launio the Lightless. And so the plague passed from our land. [img][/img] | |
