What an Amazon would know.

So what does your character know ?

It it always worth it to look around Amazon Celt and keep in mind that any of the locals will know how to live there. This would mean basics wood craft; what plant and animals are dangerous, how to deal with the snow and rain and how to avoid dangers like frostbite or hypertheremia. It also means they will know a little bit about boating and how to swim.

There are no stores or restaurants in out culture. Generalization and not specialization is the rule. Your character will know how to trap and butcher animals, prepare them and cook it safely. They will know what plants are safe to eat in the woods. They will know how to fish, they will know how to farm. They will know how to make their own beer and mead.

They will also know basic first aid, how to deal with cuts, burns, broken bones and inflammations. They will know what plants with deal with upset stomachs, rashes and numb pain. Most like they will be a lot of confused "magic" in it (odd rituals and special stones or plants that have to be used with the plant with the real medicinal value), but it will work. While a trained physician like Rhia will be at a another level and appear miraculous to us when she can do surgery and the like your typical local can deal with the ordinay problems of day to day like.

In a nutshell anyone from Amazon Celt or the local environment is going to very attuned to life here and its challenges.

What your character doesn't know

What you probably don't know; how to read, what the world looks like beyond what your character has seen. Places like Roman and Greek sims are going to seem unbearably hot, overly crowed and smelly to your characters. Full of incredibly bizarre food with overwhelming tastes. People performing incredible complex tasks for seemingly inscrutable reasons to your character.

If you are an outsider,..

The inverse is also true, your character comes from outside Amazon Celt it it will be bewilderingly primitive and savage to them; sanitation is almost no existent, we all live in huts and cook over open fires. To anyone from any place with any aspirations of civilization the Amazons are going to look like a pack of shrieking wild women, who positively seem to revile at killing at the drop of a hat and whose idea of entertainment it drunken brawls our crude jokes and who perceptions of the world are stupefyingly provincial.

So take a look at the your character, think it threw how the world looks to them.
